Description supplied by the source

Charter  proposes to use fiber-to-the-premises (“FTTP”) via 10G Ethernet Passive Optical Network (“10G-EPON”) (together, “FTTP 10G-EPON”) network architecture in the Project Area. Our scalable model and capacity management processes have proven to be successful and will accommodate increased demand as Charter adds customers over time and as customers demand more bandwidth. Indeed, Charter’s nationwide architecture is the same architecture being deployed in grant areas in North Carolina and will exceed BEAD standards by offering 1 Gbps symmetrical speeds or higher, with extremely low typical median latency. This network design easily meets and exceeds the revised definition of a “priority broadband project” adopted in the BEAD Restructuring Policy Notice.

Limitations and interpretation

  • An award is a research signal. The award holder decides its own bids and subcontracts. Confirm project status and vendor needs with them.

“Not reported” means missing information, not zero. Completed and withdrawn records can remain available as historical records.
