Description supplied by the source
Resound Networks proposes to deploy an XGS-PON fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband network in Billings, Oklahoma, to deliver reliable, high-capacity internet service to 85 total unserved locations. These Network Expansion Territories (NETs) qualify under BEAD guidelines due to their unserved status, and Resound’s deployment will elevate the connectivity standard across the community to scalable, symmetrical gigabit broadband.\\n\\nThe project will involve the construction of new middle-mile fiber routes, local fiber distribution networks, and last-mile connections directly to each eligible residence or business. Resound’s network design ensures long-term capacity, low latency, and future-proof service, creating a foundation for growth, economic development, and digital inclusion in the Billings area.\\n\\nGiven the rural spread of the 85 target locations, the project will follow a phased deployment approach. Engineering, procurement, and permitting activities will commence immediately after award, with construction and activation progressing in rolling segments. The entire deployment is planned for completion within 18 months. Any identified Community Anchor Institutions will be prioritized for early service activation to ensure fast access to critical connectivity.\\n\\nThis project reflects Resound’s commitment to delivering cost-effective, reliable, and future-ready broadband service to rural Oklahoma, applying the same proven technology and disciplined execution used in prior successful federally funded broadband programs.
