How these tools are built
Public money leaves a public record. It just does not leave it in one place. We read the files, match the names, and stamp every number with its source and date.
Why we built them
BEAD's paper trail is split across NTIA federal reporting, the USASpending subaward feed, and 56 state broadband offices. Each publishes on its own schedule, in its own format, with its own vintage. Answering “who won here, and what did the state award” used to mean a dozen tabs and three dates to reconcile by hand.
The tracker brings the public sources together: 131 projects, 36 company records in this edition. Data as of 2026-08-22.
How a number gets here
- We pull the public files as each publisher releases them. We do not invent awards.
- We match projects to companies and states using the IDs those files already carry.
- We keep each source’s date. NTIA vintage and USASpending as-of are never averaged into one “updated” stamp.
- Each source keeps its own publication date. We trace discrepancies back to the published file.

What an award tells you
These pages organize dated public records. Awarded money has a recipient. Payment follows the award agreement. State records and federal reporting can have different dates.
